God’s method in redeeming those the religious call “irredeemable”, just like with the woman caught in the act of sexual misconduct, is NOT to begin by openly vilifying the individual and demanding amends for their sin.
First, He rescues them from open shame and the consequences of their undeniable failures; Then, when, they’re safe from the stones of the public, He privately introduces Himself in love, sets the focus on His righteousness, and charges them NOT to go down the path of destruction...
Until the Church learns Christ’s heart-transformation, NOT behavior-modification-focused method of delivering people... which douses the incendiary fires of the consequences of the sinner’s sinful actions and tranquilizes them with “undeserved” love, we may never get far enough to let them embrace us and initiate the healing regimen of the word; sanctification.
What I’m saying is: Love...before judgement.
Both for saved prodigal, and the “unsaved” alike.
And we must remember that God is the one who does the judging...by His Word and Spirit; not our self-righteous prescriptions
